Andrej Berdajs is a social pedagogue who has 3 decades of practice and experience working in high school, where he worked as a teacher, assistant principal, principal and director of a school center. As part of his managerial pedagogical work, he dealt a lot with the risky work of the high school population of students (children of foreigners, students with special needs, dropouts…) and with advising their teachers. The direction of this activity was the training of teachers in mastering socio-pedagogical approaches and the use of the socio-pedagogical model of their work in school. Today he is employed as an docent professor in the field of social pedagogy at the Faculty of Education of the University of Primorska, where he transfers his experience and acquired knowledge in the field of social pedagogical work to students. His research area is social pedagogical work with the elderly, both within institutions and outside them, and in this topic he links to the andragogy of target groups. His marginal research area is based on past experience, namely the management of non-profit organizations and counseling work with parents and adolescents.
