Dr. Michael Schwaiger

I am mainly responsible for the setting-up and management of this VAM Realities network. I am not a technical expert in the field of AR/VR/AR, much more I approach the topic from a pedagogic and EU project development perspective. I have been involved in more than 100 EU projects in the field of VET, general adult and higher education, about 20 of them I have written and/or managed myself. In recent years, we have increasingly put the focus on projects dealing with immersive teaching and learning of which VAM Realities is a result. Currently, I’m in contact with about 40 EU projects dealing with immersive teaching and learning in different fields and with different target groups; the long-term goal is to build a loose network of project coordinators to exchange our work results, analyse lessons learnt and initiate further R&D projects. In this context, I was the editor of the European education policy paper "Boosting Virtual Reality in Learning", published in September 2020.
