Description of VR/AR/MR interest, experience, expertise
I am a Professor of human-computer interaction in the School of Computing Science at Glasgow University, where I lead the Multimodal Interaction Group (http://mig.dcs.gla.ac.uk/). My research focuses on multimodal HCI, or using multiple sensory modalities and control mechanisms (particularly audio, haptics and gesture) to create a rich, natural interaction between human and computer. I have worked in the area of audio and haptic interaction since the 1990’s. My focus is currently audio augmented reality and AR/VR use in vehicles. I run the ViAjeRo project (https://viajero-project.org/) which is investigating how we can use AR and VR to improve passenger journeys.
